High oil and energy prices are impacting the production costs of Dupont’s nylon. The group today announced additional structural price increases for nylon 612 and nylon 610 toothbrush filaments produced by DuPont Filaments Americas, LLC, DuPont Filaments Europe, BV and DuPont Xingda Filaments Company Limited, effective 1st July 2008. The price adjustment will be USD 0.50/kg for the DuPont™ Tynex® toothbrush filament range and USD 0.70/kg for the DuPont™ Herox® toothbrush filament range.
Despite aggressive productivity and cost-cutting strategies, the group said those efforts are not enough to cover increasing raw materials and freight and logistics costs.
