The sixth edition of the PCD Congress (Perfumes, Cosmetics & Design) opens its doors on the 26th & 27th January, 2010, in Paris, at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, with over 1,400 participants from about thirty countries, representing the leading international brands packaging experts and their main packaging suppliers.

The core theme of the conference programme will be sustainable development, the goal being to broaden the range of issues addressed at the 2009 edition. “Perfumes and cosmetics brands actively contribute to the optimising of global ressources by reducing the number of components, using bio or agro-materials, reducing weights and volumes, saving energy at all stages in production and distribution, improving effluent management, recyclability, etc. Not to mention taking account of REACH,” say the organisers.

The lectures run in parallel with the exhibition intend to take stock of the display of environmental information, eco-design, bio and agro-materials, recyclability, colouring, sustainable development certification, and the links between packaging innovations and sustainable development. The state of the art of formulation and process for bio and natural cosmetics in order to respect the environment will also be detailed.
