Olivier Guillemin

The first conference will focus on the influence of 3D technologies in make-up and, more globally on our approach to colour, on products, textures, but also to everything concerning distribution and communication, from packaging to advertising. The second will focus on a historical approach of colour in make-up and will address colours’ interaction in fashion, body and make-up.

Olivier Guillemin, who was born in Paris in 1961, is also a fashion designer, Secretary General of Intercolor, an international Association of creative research on colour trends in fashion and environment, and Creative Director and co-founder, along with Olivier Védrine, of the design, architecture and scenography agency [o,o].

For more than 10 years, he has been involved in Japan as a colour, design and fashion artistic consultant, for Shiseido, and more specifically today for the Maquillage brand.

Olivier Guillemin has chaired the French Committee of Colour since 1993. Stylists, designers, art directors, visual artists, researchers, journalists and even writers gathered in this original club form a prospective breeding ground, to serve design and colour. Together, they give thought to the evolution and expression of colours linked to lifestyles.

Twice a year, the French Committee of Colour imagines a chromatic evolution of the environment with the publishing of a colour range that enjoys a wide audience among trade shows and member companies.

According to Olivier Guillemin, coulour acts as a sense enhancer. Colour is there to serve both, aesthetics and function, it attracts the look, but carries within itself very strong sensory connotations hinged on touch, hearing, smell, taste. “To awaken one’s sense, is indeed to be sure of offering that little extra bit of soul to colours that speaks to our conscience and unconscious mind. To observe to better create, but it’s also to feel in order to better imagine.
