Geka, which specialises in the development and production of mascara brushes, applicators and complete delivery systems for liquid colour cosmetics, is expanding its production facility in Elgin (Illinois). The Germany-headquartered company has also announced the appointment of Raymond Legassie, a confirmed cosmetics expert, as President of North America Operations Geka Manufacturing Corp.
The United States has grown up a major market for Geka, with some of its largest customers already located there. The appointment of Raymond Legassie will take effect on July 26, 2010. Raymond Legassie will assume responsibility for all North American business. He is a cosmetics expert with over 20 years’ experience in the cosmetic packaging industry, previously, working for Risdon and HCP.
According to Geka, Mr. Legassie’s valuable knowledge will help the companies in the development of new products that are tailored to the needs of American customers. Geka also hopes to extend its full production competence to North America.
