DuPont and ADesign Brushes, the brand of Anisa International, a US company specializing in make-up , are working together on the development of five brushes made with Natrafil filaments. Their goal is to provide synthetic alternatives to natural hair while also improving overall makeup application.

Distributed during MakeUp in Paris in June, the ADesign prototype brushes - a lip brush, an eyeliner brush, a buffer brush, a small and a large eyeshadow brush - have been tested by 50 professional make up artists that have since evaluated and challenged the kit.
According Sarah Perreard, DuPont Natrafil product manager, these tests have confirmed the quality of the Natrafil filaments once again, since they offer a higher performance compared to common synthetic filaments but also “an equal to superior performance to natural hair.”
Indeed, 59% of the make up artists questioned by DuPont have observed a higher pick up and 53% a better release of the formula when using Natrafil brushes. In addition, more than half of them also noticed a more uniform and even application with the brushes made with Natrafil compared to animal hair and 71% of the make up artists have deemed that powders are less volatile when applied with Natrafil filaments, allowing for less powder to fall under the eye.
The ease of cleaning was also pointed out by 59% of them, compared to natural hair, 61% said they actually dry more quickly and don’t need to be reshaped.
The large panel of professional make up artists that testes the ADesign prototypes made it possible to highlight another particularity of DuPont Natrafil filaments, that is their ability to facilitate the application of challenging make up formulations such as organic formulas.
“Organic make up is usually more difficult to apply, as it does not contain synthetic pigments and silicones,” explains Dasha Grozdanic, make up artist and creator of Green Make Up blog.
Following this first phase of tests, ADesign is now about to integrate the feedback from the make up artists into the final phase of the development. Thus ADesign will be able to adapt and optimize the brushes before the launch planned for 2012.

On this occasion, Anisa International will present their latest launches, including the Dual-Sided Brushes collection, a line of multifunctional brushes made with both a synthetic hair side and a natural hair side, thus allowing to apply emollient based products as well as powders, and then blending all over easily.
