The latest edition of CosmeticBusiness, the annual German trade fair, was held from June 17 to 18, 2010 at the M,O,C, Events Centre in Munich and gathered about 340 exhibitors [1] with an exhibition area expanding by 20 % compared to 2009. According to the organizers, the number of registered trade visitors grew by almost 20% too.

All the big names meet at the CosmeticBusiness in Munich, which means you can particularly feel the liveliness and dynamics of the cosmetics branch here”, commented Frank Richter, owner of the show. “Quality is the alpha and omega for us - and this guarantees the concept of our b2b trade fair,” he added.

Among what we saw at CosmeticBusiness 2010:

 Corpack GmbH showcased sustainable wood packaging concepts. The so-called “Concepts in Wood” are standard components, encased or finished with real wood, derived from ecologically sustainable, PEFC-certified European forests.
 Neopac AG presented the new Polydose 360° metal-free tube family, an airless solution (in partnership with MegaPlast GmbH & Co. KG) especially for oxygen-sensitive cosmetic lotions and creams. Furthermore, Neopac introduced Polyfoil tubes with SoftTips applicators in partnership with Seaquist Closures Löffler GmbH. “Innovation is our key factor of success,” said Monika Rüegg, Head of Sales & Marketing Cosmetics.
 Inotech Plastics Technology introduced a patented innovation, the new designed, airless, metal- and silicone-free dispenser system Prestige with its novel pump system for low viscosity tonics and creams as well as highly viscous gels. The start of production is planned in August 2010.
 Langguth Cosmetic GmbH, primarily presented specialties in the nail polish and nail-care segment like new, matt nail polish bases and specific cuticle-care formulations. “Permanent investments, state-of-the-art technology and flexibility are our key factors of success to react on new trends without time delay,” stated Sabine Fortmühler, Sales Manager.
 Kunststoffwerke Adolf Hopf GmbH & Co. KG showcased its product range, and especially the numerous thick-walled jars from 15 ml to 200 ml presented as an alternative solution to comparable products made of glass.
 Huttenlocher GmbH showcased airless dispensers and dosing pumps.

The next CosmeticBusiness is scheduled on 9-10 June 2011 at the M,O,C, Events Centre in Munich.
