Luxe Pack Shanghai recorded more than double visitor numbers - 1908 this year versus 936 in 2007. “50% of visitors were chief executive officers, or directors of purchasing, development, marketing or communication: the expected decision-makers turned up with 90% of visitors coming from China,” claimed the organisers of the show, in a release.

The perfumery and cosmetics sector dominated (more than 40% of visitors). Other sectors were jewellery, fine foods, wines & spirits, fashion accessories, tobacco, writing implements and other luxury products for which packaging is essential.

The event, which was held on 17 &18 March at the Shanghai International Convention Center hosted 72 exhibitors, almost double the figure for the 1st edition.
