“Essence”, the American designer’s new olfactive signature has been designed in cooperation with Firmenich’s perfumer Alberto Morillas. “The fragrance is an olfactory homage to the duality of a woman’s nature - the intense and the ethereal, the simple and the complex,” says Beauté Prestige International (BPI), the licence holder, in a release.

A similar mix of simplicity and sophistication lays behind Essence’s bottle, created by industrial designer Ross Lovegrove, and the advertising campaign featuring model Catherine MacNeil captured by the lens of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

Paris-based fragrance division of the Shiseido Cosmetics Corporation, BPI, will launch Narciso Rodriguez’ third fragrance this spring.
