Pierre Miasnik, Fiabila

Premium Beauty News - All indicators are "green" in your market?

Pierre Miasnik - Yes quite true! We are really on an expanding market on which we are witnessing a real acceleration.

In fact, it is the conjunction of several phenomena: The first one of them is of course, strong recovery, but it is mostly the second phenomenon which is much more interesting.

A number of major brands specialised in cosmetics had neglected nail polish in recent years and had clearly lost market shares. They now realize that it’s in fact a fantastic loss leader and that nail polish has truly become a powerhouse in the world of make-up. Colour has been brought back into fashion. And the price of the product has also remained affordable for the consumer.

Premium Beauty News - Especially since, in parallel, you have made considerable progress on a technical level to improve the quality of nail polishes, their shades and their durability!

Pierre Miasnik - Absolutely! This reflects Fiabila’s commitment, for over thirty years, to develop the "best" products. And this with the entrepreneurial vision which has always been ours, where investments are the result of long term industrial strategies, not depending on financial investors with short term objectives in mind.

We are now reaping the fruits of research works and new product developments for which we haven’t stopped investing in recent years. This gave us a chance of filing many patents, especially concerning new materials and new polymers. And as we are big users of raw materials, it allows us to obtain top qualities.

Premium Beauty News - In terms of industrial investments, concretely, what are your future plans?

Pierre Miasnik - It is clear that our investments are focusing straight away on our French production plant and our U.S. site, without forgetting the completion of works begun in India, where we have been operating for more than 10 years. In France, this concerns both nail polish production and also the packaging facility. Did you know that this year, we have merely doubled our turnover in the United States.

But we are also investing a lot in workforce. All our teams have been reinforced.
